About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2015, RAKO Services emerged from the expertise of two seasoned construction engineers who honed their skills on project sites across Australia. With a journey that took them from graduate engineers to project managers, they have successfully delivered a diverse array of projects, including motorways, railways, water and gas pipelines, telecommunications, tunnelling, earthworks, mining, oil and gas, and public realm developments. This philosophy of real world experience applies today and underpins the selection of our key personnel to ensure the reason the business was started is not lost.
Learning Through Experience
Cutting their teeth on local, regional, and remote projects offered the founders an exceptional opportunity to understand what it takes to deliver projects under various conditions, contract models, different clients, and changing economic climates. This experience cannot be bought; it is only gained by doing the work and delivering on promises. This commitment still drives the company today, fostering a passion for delivering public and private infrastructure for the benefit of others.
Initial Offerings
RAKO Services’ initial offering was to provide on-site project management services to construction companies requiring key personnel to deliver infrastructure projects with high standards of financial, safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The focus was on achieving the four main key result areas (KRAs) of cost, time, quality, and safety. The company focused on projects in the Oil & Gas market, particularly for coal seam gas developers and road infrastructure clients such as Transport for Main Roads, consistently delivering projects aligned with the KRAs set by the main contractor.
Expansion of Services
Over the years, RAKO Services has expanded its services to assist construction companies, design consultancies and Government Owned Companies (GOCs) in areas such as bid management, constructability advice, estimating and cost planning, project controls and planning, design management, procurement and the provision of specialist resources as needed. Our personnel come from various sectors of the industry, contributing experience from initial development through to operation and maintenance.

Leadership

Currently, the company is headed by Founding Director Reese Deaves, a Chartered Professional Civil Engineer and RPEQ. Reese has extensive experience in the design and construction of civil and structural engineering projects in both Australia and the United Kingdom. With over thirty-five years of experience in engineering, construction, and management of major projects, particularly in multidisciplinary infrastructure, Reese possesses in-depth knowledge of end-to-end project delivery.
Reese is backed by experienced managers in key roles covering RAKO's headline services of PMO, Bid Management, Estimating Services and Project Delivery. They also span across all services we provide and bring real world experience to enable direct and informative conversations with our clients to provide a tailored made offering. Our key personnel have worked on some of the largest projects in the country, and bring this expertise to ensure we can cover all angles and possible scenarios.
